Security & Compliance

Security

Does the developer periodically perform penetration testing?

Yes
Our QA team periodically test our apps and make sure there are no broken pieces. This process also includes doing continuous tests for XSS, CSRF, Mass Assignment and SQL Injection attacks.

Does the developer have a dedicated security and privacy point of contact for such issues or questions?

Yes

Does the app restrict redirects and forwards only to approved destinations, or show a warning when redirecting to potentially untrusted content?

Yes
Our app does not allow redirects outside the app. Only the same domain redirects are allowed.

Does the app protect against mass parameter assignment attacks?

Yes
Our application's backend is a built in a way to only allow certain predefined input types. This ensures that the any malicious data passed to backend will not be executed (including mass parameter assignment attacks).

Does the app perform encoding and sanitization on all user supplied parameters to protect against Cross-Site Scripting?

Yes
We use the latest tools to implement the most secure XSS encoding and sanitization on any values which are passed to our application's backend. These tools include packages like Zod, DOMPurify and more.

Does the developer protect all state-changing actions against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)?

Yes
We follow these rules in our apps for protection agains CSRF attacks: CSRF Tokens: The server generates a unique token for each user session and includes it in forms or AJAX requests. This token is validated on the server side before processing the request. Since the attacker cannot predict or obtain this token due to the same-origin policy, they cannot forge a valid request. SameSite Cookie: Cookies can be marked with the SameSite attribute to restrict their usage to the same site that set them. Setting this attribute to Strict or Lax prevents the browser from sending cookies along with cross-origin requests, thereby mitigating CSRF attacks. Origin Headers: Checking the Origin or Referer headers on incoming requests to ensure they match the expected origin of the application can help prevent CSRF attacks. Custom Request Headers: Including custom headers in requests and validating them on the server side can add an extra layer of protection against CSRF attacks. Since custom headers are not automatically included in cross-origin requests, this can mitigate the risk. Double Submit Cookies: In this approach, a CSRF token is set both in a cookie and as a hidden form field. When a form is submitted, the server compares the token in the cookie with the token in the form field to validate the request. Content-Type Check: Ensuring that requests with state-changing actions use specific Content-Types (e.g., application/x-www-form-urlencoded, multipart/form-data, application/json) can help prevent certain types of CSRF attacks, as some browsers may block requests with certain Content-Types in cross-origin scenarios. HTTP Methods Check: Verifying that state-changing actions only occur for certain HTTP methods (e.g., POST, PUT, DELETE) can also mitigate CSRF attacks, as some methods are less susceptible to CSRF due to browser restrictions (e.g., GET requests can often be initiated cross-origin).

Does the developer have mechanisms to notify monday.com in case of a security breach?

Yes
We manually notify monday.com by writing an email to the support team.

Does this developer have a process for installing application-level updates and security patches for the service (such as software packages and databases)?

Yes
First, we go thorough a QA process before publishing anything to production. Next is to make sure that the during update and deployment process all the services are keep running. We prioritize Critical and High as first and do our best to handle them same day. We take up to 3 days for Medium and for Low from a week to a month.
