What is a CLI?

A CLI, or Command Line Interface, is a way to tell your computer what to do by typing commands instead of clicking icons. You type a command, press enter, and the computer responds by performing a task. Here, we bring that idea to monday.com.

Get the job done faster with commands, not clicks. ๐Ÿš€

  • Add, remove, copy, or getinfo on a variety of monday.com elements such as workspaces, boards, groups, users, teams, and more!
  • Automating these tasks offers reduction in overall time and errors associated with constant manual clicking.

What types of work can this app help you with?

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Board setup for a new project

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Configuration and maintenance of monday.com

๐Ÿ“Š Reporting and auditing

๐Ÿ‘ค User management

What are some specific tasks you can automate with this app?

๐ŸŽจ Create and export lists of boards, workspaces, and users for an audit

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Add a new team or user to multiple workspaces at once

๐Ÿ“‘ Copy boards and items as project templates

๐Ÿงน Remove boards and groups in bulk to clean up your workspace and projects

In contrast to monday.com's automations that are event-based or triggered by actions, CLI - Automate Action is for ad-hoc tasks.

Countless automation possibilities

This app includes over 80 different actions you can execute from the command line, creating seemingly endless potential automations to free up your time.

Never used a command line before? No problem!

Writing commands is easy-peasy. Each command contains two parts:

  1. Action - the action to be performed, like exporting, saving, adding, or removing
  2. Parameters - the specific details to go along with the action, like what file to export to, what filter to apply, what boards to take action on, etc.
